1. Malo Zarace Beach
A secluded beach located around 30 minutes drive from Hvar town, Zaraće is located under the cliffs where the small village of Zarace is located. It’s a pebbled beach on a cove on the west side, where you can enjoy some quiet time with a favorite book or a picnic lunch.
It’s seashore and crystal blue waters are also ideal for snorkeling. Only 6 kilometers from Hvar town, this beach can be easily reached by car or boat.

2. Milna

Milna is one of the oldest beach destinations in Hvar, as it’s been around since the time Hvar opened itself to tourists many centuries ago. It is both a village and a bay with pebbled beaches, pine forests, and vineyards.
The charming village still has the 27th-century mansion as well as restaurants. The whole place has a quaint small-town feel and is ideal for a relaxing stroll whether you’re in the village or by the beach.
3. Bonj Beach

Close to Hotel Amfora is Bonj, one of those beaches that are located close to Hvar town and easy to get to as it’s just a ten-minute walk. It is ideal for a quick break from exploring Hvar town and is also close to restaurants and bars.
It is home to the exclusive Bonj Les Bains beach club, which is frequented by the global elite. You need not go to an exclusive club to enjoy the fine pebbles and crystalline waters of Bonj though, as the areas not covered by the club are just as pretty.

4. Dubovica
Situated in a secluded bay and surrounded by pine trees and olive groves, Dubovica is one of the most picturesque beaches in Hvar. This pebbled beach is located about 8 kilometers on the east of Hvar town and is among the most popular beaches in the area.
There are restaurants and bars nearby for visitors to enjoy a quick snack or drinks as they relax on the pebbled shore. Dubovica can get pretty crowded during weekends or summer so make sure to set out early to reserve a good spot on the shore.
5. Maslinica

Located about two kilometers from the Stari Grad ferry harbor is the picture-perfect Maslinica cove, which is among the few Hvar beaches blessed with sandy shores. This is also the only sand beach in the Stari Grad bay area that you can reach by car, ad its other beaches are accessed only by water taxi or a rented boat.
Maslinica’s sandy shores are a perfect match to the sparkling blue-green waters of the waters so make this part of your Hvar trip especially if you’re going beach hopping.
6. Palmizana Beach, Pakleni Islands
One of the best and most popular beaches in Hvar is Palmižana, which is part of the stunning Pakleni islands— an archipelago of sixteen islands covered with pine and dotted with crystal blue coves. It is reached by water taxi from the main island of Hvar and is definitely a worthy excursion.
It may be small but the area, aside from the beach, also has restaurants and bars to cater to guests. Palmižana may not be as easily accessible like the other Hvar beaches but can still get pretty crowded so be sure to plan your visit.
7. Pokonji Dol Beach

The picture-perfect Pokonji Dol may just be within walking distance and easily accessible from Hvar town, but it doesn’t get as crowded as the other beaches. Definitely one of the best beaches in Hvar, it is often described as having a comfortable and relaxing vibe. Most likely owing to the fact that the pebbled shores of Pokonji Dol are actually more comfortable to lay on.
This area is close to two restaurants that serve fresh seafood and cold beer, making Pokonji Dol an ideal place for a quick getaway in Hvar.
8. Ivan Dolac

The small pebbles of Ivan Dolac beach could almost pass for sand, and quite comfortable to lay on. It is also quiet and not yet teeming with tourists, making it a perfect getaway. This area is part of the scenic Ivan Dolac village which is surrounded by steep slopes and vineyards.
It is an hour drive from Hvar town and not very accessible so on most days, you can actually enjoy the beach to yourself.

From Pokonji Dol, you only need to walk for about twenty minutes to reach the secluded Mekićevica beach. This is a pebbled cove that’s surrounded by pine forests, it is pretty hidden and sheltered.
This makes for a truly relaxing getaway, and a comfortable one too as the pine provides enough shade from the sun. Mekićevica also has an amazing restaurant nearby that serves fresh, home-cooked food, a definite must-try.
10. Jagodna Beach, Sveta Nedalja
Situated between Sveta Nedalja and Ivan Dolac is the tiny secluded cove called Jagodna. It’s not easy to get to from Hvar town but surely worth the time and effort because compared to other Hvar beaches, there’s more sand here. Definitely a welcome respite from all the pebbly and rocky beaches in the area.
Jagodna is also located at the base of bright orange cliffs and lush green slopes that looks perfect against the Adriatic’s crystal blue waters. Make sure you stay here until late afternoon as it’s one of the best places to watch the sunset.
