Hi, I’m Christine – a full-time traveler and career woman. Although I’m from the Philippines, my location independent career took me to over 40 countries for the past 8 years. I also lived in 3 continents – North America, Asia, and Africa. Although I didn’t live in Europe, most of my favorite countries are in Europe. And among them is Croatia. I traveled intensively in Croatia and fell in love with it.
From its national parks, awesome islands and beaches, to food and its people – Croatia will always be one of those countries that really surprised me.
How did my love affair with Croatia started?
It was in my parent’s couch when I was in college. Every afternoon, I would always watch Samantha Brown’s Passport To Europe. And I always joked to my mom, “It’s travel time.” I didn’t have the resources back then so as a way to “explore” countries, I’d just watch travel shows. In one of the episodes, Samantha Brown’s featured Dubrovnik. And upon seeing the Old Town’s medieval architecture, I told myself, “I’ll go there.” And so I did.
Although Dubrovnik was the main reason I first went to Croatia – I was surprised by the beauty of the country. I fell in love with Zagreb’s markets and restaurants (Didov San – I still dream of you!). I was amazed by the national parks – Plitvice and Krka. Relaxed at smaller towns – Korenica and Split. The amazing islands and the architecture. And most of all the people.
If I could only write every single encounter I had with the locals where I have been the recipient of their kindness, I would. And that’s the reason this website is born. To give back to one of the most beautiful countries I’ve been, to help travelers to their visit in Croatia and for me to have an excuse to keep going back. Because I will need more content to keep this site. Ha!
